Description: 

I discovered this stunning view of the New River Gorge while hiking an unmarked hidden trail near Edmond. The trail was narrow and filled with rhododendrons. At the end was this rock outcrop that felt like being close to Heaven. I wanted to create an image that showed the vastness of the view and allowed the viewer to imagine sitting on this windy mountaintop enjoying the tranquility with no other humans around for miles.

New River Gorge is one of West Virginia's most beloved national parks. Nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, it offers an abundance of recreational opportunities from hiking to climbing and white water rafting within its 53 mile area. The park is also rich in cultural and natural history as well as globally significant diversity of flora and fauna.
