My latest painting, 'The Curious Crossing Into Elsewhere' has been selected for display at the Huntington Museum Of Art as part of the TSAA Biennial juried exhibition.
The painting will be on display in the Switzer Gallery at the museum from March 21st-June 21st, with an opening reception on March 22nd from 2-4pm.
TSAA (Tri-State Artists Association) was founded in 1953 and promotes the work of artists living in KY,OH and WV. The biennial exhibition presents an eclectic variety of artwork made by juried artisans from the tri-state area. Categories include painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, glass, fiber, textiles and wood. The show is very competitive, and in 2024, only 60 entries were accepted out of 180.
This exhibit is presented with support from The Isabelle Gwynn and Robert Daine Exhibition Endowment. It's also supported with financial assistance from The WV Department Of Tourism and the National Endowment For The Arts, with approval from the WV Commission On The Arts.
'The Curious Crossing Into Elsewhere' is an 8x10 original acrylic on gallery wrap canvas. The inspirations behind the painting merge several re-imagined memories from my experiences and include a nature path in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, a magical late spring morning when I walked in a forest where snow covered the leafy green trees and flowers, and loosely interpreted memories from reading Alice In Wonderland.
