The Curious Crossing Into Elsewhere

Threads Of Mountain Kin

The Lion Who Let The Light Through

11x14. NOT FOR SALE. Prints available

Stella Maris

11x14 original acrylic in a navy wood frame. (15.5x12.5) $575 During my college years, I hiked with around a lake at St. Johns' University in MN with friends at midnight during a full moon. We came upon an old stone ruin of a small chapel that looked magical, mysterious and spooky in the moonlight. It was surrounded by woods with no other signs of habitation around it. I never forgot that experience, and many years later I wanted to share it with my new husband, so we hiked around the lake. To my surprise, the chapel had been restored! I found out the chapel was named Stella Maris (Star Of the Sea) and was originally built in 1872. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the chapel, it's well worth the hike! **Now Showing at Love Hope Arts Gallery. Call (304) 207-0574 to purchase.

Moonlight Mischief

'Moonlight Mischief' 8x10 (9x11 with frame)on canvas, black wood frame. $475 This painting was inspired by a trip to Isle Royale in my college days, and it's one of my favorite memories from that time period. I was backpacking through the island and we were camped in a birch forest one night. It was almost midnight and the moon was full, casting a silvery glow through the white forest. I was mesmerized by the light and the sight of foxes playing among the trees. It was very magical! No reference photos were used. This scene was created solely from my memories of that night.

Love Gives You Wings

'Love Gives You Wings' 8x8 (9x9 with frame) on canvas, black wood frame. $315. Cardinals tend to mate for life and one of the symbolisms they embody is that of love and devotion. I wanted to honor that symbolism as is has been an important influence in my own life, nurturing and enabling my career as an artist. This is my first bird painting. No reference photos were used. The birds were created solely from my imagination. I wanted to portray them in a more whimsical way, highlighting the bright fanciful plumage of the male and the fluffy but slightly disheveled cuteness of the female with the hungry newborn chick.

Spring In The Wildwood

I once lived in the woods where I saw fawns born every spring. I loved watching them play and discover the world. Seeing these sweet beings grow felt like living in a fairytale. Soon after painting this, one very special fawn was born who became a friend. I watched her grow and have babies of her own for many years. 16 x 20 original acrylic on stretched canvas. *NOT FOR SALE* Prints available.

Surrender To The Stillness

A stream flows through a dreamy misty forest. The trees are covered in moss and mushrooms. It's the sort of place one could lie down and dream peacefully for 100 years like Rip Van Winkle. *SOLD* Prints available.

A Day In The Life Of A Kansas Housewife

Somewhere in Kansas, there is a pretty stone house, a flower garden and a clothesline filled with only white clothing. (Why is all her laundry white except the red dress?) Life here is routine, and complacency has settled in. In the distance, a very ominous storm is rolling in, covering the sun and threatening the status quo. The wind has caught a red dress, a woman and her dog chase after the dress as it spirals into the storm. A metaphor for a dream forgotten, or perhaps remembered too late? Like the red dress, we sometimes lose sight of the things that matter most, and they are gone before we realize it. 16x20 on canvas with white and grey frame. $800 **Now showing at Tamarack. The Stillness Between Worlds

16 x 20 framed original acrylic. The Stillness Between Worlds is painted from a recent dream about imagination, potential, mindfulness, and becoming. The scenery incorporates influences from living in Minnesota and Colorado, but is also inspired by one of my favorite artists, Salvador Dali. Please contact me through the form below to purchase. 22.8 W x 18.7 H x 1 D inches $850 **Now Showing at Love Hope Arts Gallery. Call (304) 207-0574 to purchase.

Margret

24 x 36 original acrylic. Stretched canvas in an ornate black frame. This forest is painted from my memories of a trip to the Florida Everglades. There was this mysterious and haunting tree tunnel that fascinated me and became the setting for 'Margret'. The theme of the painting was inspired by a childhood friend and explores human potential. The doll abandoned on the path suggests the presence of a little girl, yet where is she? There is also a glowing light at the end of the path. We are all born with gifts and presented with challenges and opportunities in life. What we do with them and how we make our way through life is up to us. We may have many gifts and yet end up in bad places, or we may have little and achieve much. So what makes us succeed or fail, and do we learn from our failures and continue on stronger than before? It is up to the viewer to decide whether the little girl rose to her potential or became lost along the way. 26 W x 40 H x 2.5 D inches $4200 Available for purchase through Tamarack Marketplace Gallery. Call 304-256-6843 ext. 7329 for more information.

'Owlwise'

A little owl perches on an autumn Sycamore branch, its feathers soft and fluffy like it just nestled in for the night. Her dark, starry eyes feel like they’re holding tiny constellations; curious, calm, and quietly knowing. The teal-blue background gives everything a dreamy glow, almost like the air itself is drifting between worlds. Owls are often tied to dreamtime and intuition, and this one feels like a gentle guide, watching over the threshold between waking and sleeping. Sycamore trees are also associated with the dreamtime, and together, they carry a sense of stepping just beyond the veil, into the realm where intuition and dreams speak softly. Warm russet leaves frame the scene, adding to the mystical, just-between-realities vibe—like you’ve wandered into a secret moment the forest usually keeps hidden. 8x10 on canvas board in a grey frame. (9.5x11.5) $295 **Now Showing at Love Hope Arts Gallery. Call (304) 207-0574 to purchase.

The Pond Between Worlds

Ophelia and Gaia merge in a shared moment of stillness — a reflection of beauty, fragility, and the cost of neglect. As Ophelia slips beneath the water in Shakespeare’s tragedy, so too does Gaia confront rising ocean waters and the emotional distance of those who shape her fate. Suspended between grief and renewal, they ask whether we stand as witnesses to loss or caretakers of the world’s return to breath. 8x8 on canvas panel with black wood frame $315 **Now showing at Tamarack. Nature's Magic

16 x 20 framed original acrylic. Nature's Magic is painted from my memories of visiting Japan, viewed through the misted lens of dream-memory. This is not a specific place, rather the echoes of many memories folded into one image. Hazy memories of cherry blossoms, Kamikochi National Park, and crystal clear blue waters. Natural Japan is so mysterious and alive with ancient healing wisdom. It's otherworldly, and yet it's a real life dreamscape. 23 W x 19 H x 1 D inches $750 **Now showing at Tamarack. Call (304) 256-6843 ext 7329 or visit link to purchase.https://www.tamarackwv.com/galleries/

The Tree Of Life

I paint from memories and dreams, drawing from the images in my mind. I intentionally avoid using reference photos, as I’m also a photographer and prefer to keep the two practices distinctly separate. Painting, for me, is an intuitive and emotive process—a way of expressing life by entering a flow state and allowing the imagery to emerge organically on the canvas. This particular painting was inspired by both a recent dream and a childhood memory of The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis, where Digory Kirke journeys to the Tree of Life to retrieve an apple that will heal his mother. Please contact me through the form below to purchase. 8 x 10 original acrylic in a black frame. (9.8 W x 12 H x 1 D inches ) $250 **Now Showing at Love Hope Arts Gallery. Call (304) 207-0574 to purchase.

The Watchers

The Watchers was inspired by a dream about a city that was watched over by a group of guardian angels. 24x36 original acrylic on stretched canvas. $1500. *SOLD* Prints available.

Maidens' Blush

Inspired by a dream of a woman practicing mindfulness in a beautiful woodland garden. The garden is a symbol of her inner journey to discovering her own beauty, strength and resilience. The willow represents bending gracefully in the wind and being strong without breaking. The fish symbolize inner wisdom and creativity. The wisteria tree represents longevity, grace, resilience and intuition. 36 x 24 original acrylic on canvas. $3200. *SOLD* Prints available.

Cantognake

Cantognake is a Lakota word for love and represents a deep emotional connection and the flame of emotion in one's heart, being the motive of all creation and representing balance. There is a story about two young lovers, White Lance and Red Willow Woman, who fell deeply in love during a summer gathering. but they had to part ways after the gathering. White Lance traveled north to participate in raids and war parties to gather horses for the bride gift. When he returned with two friends to Red Willow Woman's encampment to find her dying from a bear attack. White Lance killed the bear but was mortally wounded in the process. He crawled to Red Willow Woman, and they died in each other's arms, entering the spirit world together. Later, two cottonwood trees were found growing where they died, their branches appearing to intertwine like hands. This symbolized their enduring love 16 x 20 original acrylic on stretched canvas. $750 *SOLD* Prints available.

Moonrise

I woke from a dream with this image in my mind and had to paint it. I had just gone through some difficult times and this beautiful red tree blooming on an icy mountaintop under a full moon gave me hope and strength. 5 x 7 original acrylic on stretched canvas. $95 *SOLD* Prints available.

Hellebore

The hellebore is an early spring flower that blooms in the snow. I was fascinated with this flower that is so resilient and yet brings so much beauty, hope and joy to those who find it. It is sometimes used in fairy tale stories for that reason, but it is a real flower anyone can plant in their garden. The actual flower doesn't look like this, but I loved the idea of a white tree with blood red flowers blooming in the cold despite the ice surrounding it. 16 x 20 original acrylic on stretched canvas. $750 *SOLD* Prints available.

The Space Between

We are not guaranteed anything in this life except this very moment, right now. The space between past and future, dreaming and becoming. 8x10 original acrylic on canvas. $195 *SOLD* Prints available.

The Mystics Tree

I love painting trees and I've always been fascinated by them. I have a deep reverence for these beings that have lived so much longer than I ever will and has seen much of history come and go. They stand as sentinels and silent witnesses to what has come before us and what will follow us. 16 x 20 acrylic on stretched canvas. $750 *SOLD* Prints available.
